ThankQ for your support! We are so grateful to Eastlink TV, host Marlene MacDonald, the many volunteers, entertainers and co-hosts who volunteered their talent and time to the QEH/Eastlink Telethon! And of course to our valuable donors here at home on the Island, and from those out of province. With your generosity $532,496 was raised to support the purchase of priority medical equipment for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital!

QEH/Eastlink Telethon Co-Host and Interview Schedule…

What the QEH/Eastlink Telethon is all about…

The 22nd annual QEH/Eastlink Telethon broadcast live on Eastlink TV Channels 10 and 610 on Saturday, May 26th from 12 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, May 27th from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.  All proceeds raised throughout the weekend will be used to fund priority medical equipment for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The QEH/Eastlink Telethon raises funds for priority medical equipment…

This year, funds raised will support equipment for provincial stroke care, provincial laboratory, operating rooms and mental health initiatives, as well as other areas of the hospital. A valuable piece of equipment that the Telethon will support is a Mass Spectrometer. This device will allow for quality testing for prescription medications and illegal substances and offering timely test results, it has the potential to save lives. Funds will also go towards the purchase of a state-of-the-art urology laser will also be purchased, which aids in the breakdown of large kidney stones. Utilizing this equipment lessens the discomfort for patients often dealing with excruciating pain.

The QEH/Eastlink Telethon features grateful patients and inspiring stories…

Viewers were introduced to some QEH patients including Harrison Maye, a young boy who has undergone cancer treatment; Maxine MacLennan, a well-known musician who recently required emergency care and rehabilitation and Sheldon O’Meara, a man who has dealt with health issues since childhood and considers the QEH a second home.

The QEH/Eastlink Telethon features fantastic Island entertainment…

There was a fantastic lineup of PEI musicians, who all volunteered their time and talents to perform on the Telethon. This year’s wide variety of performances included Richard Wood; Ashley Condon; FallBack; Rachel Beck; Barry O’Brien; the Amanda Jackson Band and many more.
