QEH Foundation announces virtual Mask-Q-rade Elimination Draw & Auction – October 19

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE –The QEH Foundation is excited to share its new Mask-Q-rade Elimination Draw & Auction, a virtual event in support of the Provincial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), cancer treatment, and children’s health at the QEH. This event will replace the Foundation’s annual Yuletide Gala Auction this year.

For the first time in the QEH Foundation’s Gala Auction history, the Foundation is holding an elimination draw, virtually. In partnership with Quartermaster Marine, a maximum of 500 ticket holders will be eligible to win a 2020 Bayliner VR4 Outboard boat and trailer, valued at over $48,000. CBC’s Matt Rainnie will host a 90-minute virtual event and share the excitement as 499 numbers are eliminated before announcing the top prize winner.

Patsy MacLean, QEH Foundation Board Chair, explains how the annual gala event is going on-line this year.

“In an effort to keep the community safe during COVID-19, and similar to our 2020 QEH-Eastlink Telethon, we have once again pivoted plans for one of our signature events,” says MacLean.

“Mask-Q-rade Elimination Draw & Auction will be on-line as a beautifully curated event to be broadcast on Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 8:00pm – 9:30pm.”

Tickets are $250 each and ticket holders will be entered into the elimination draw, registered as bidders in the exclusive silent auction, and will be provided access to the virtual event.

MacLean says details are coming together and expresses heartfelt thanks once again to Presenting Sponsor, RBC, and to Diamond Sponsor, CN, for continuing to support this important fundraising event for our Island’s main referral hospital.

“During a year when the QEH and its staff have been on the mind and in the hearts of so many, it is wonderful to see the continued support of our sponsors, both new and returning,” adds MacLean.  “Ticket sales are brisk and we are hearing from attendees who have purchased their tickets already who are now planning an exquisite evening at home with close friends and family to view the live broadcast.  Similar to other years, there will be many beautiful donated items that bidders will be able to purchase.”

Ticket holders are encouraged to watch the online broadcast but they do not need to be watching in order to win the elimination draw. Tickets can be purchased online at www.maskqrade.ca or by calling the QEH Foundation office at 902-894-2425.
