Supporting the QEH NICU

In its 87 year history, Wo He Lo has raised over $1 million to support the purchase of priority medical equipment for the Island’s most fragile babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit  (NICU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Most of that money was raised through successful clothing sales at the hospital.

While this year’s spring and fall sales have been cancelled, members are hoping Islanders will continue to help the hundreds of tiny patients and their families who receive treatment at the QEH. Wo He Lo has committed to funding the purchase the Giraffe Omnibed at a cost of approximately $72,000.  Some of the funding is in place from their 2019 fall sale, as well as gifts from other generous donors. Your support will help to fund important equipment for the care of our hospital’s most precious patients.

NICU Equipment Updates Support Babies Like Levi

A Giraffe Omnibed is a combination of an incubator and a warmer, providing an optimal neonatal environment for newborn patients and will allow the NICU to complete equipment upgrades to care for very ill and preterm neonates. Once fully operational, the provincial neonatology service will allow  more infants to remain at home in PEI for specialized care or be transferred back sooner.
